Jennifer started her insurance career straight from school as an office junior for JH Minet now the mighty Aon back in 1986. During her time with this company she spent time filing, finding post and issuing cover notes for those of you who remember them.
She was then introduced to Motor Quotes for private cars using a quote engine probably one of the first, inputting the clients information and the system would check a panel of Insurers and would provide the quotation, this was fantastic as you did not need to refer to an underwriting guide. She was then asked to look after home insurance policies.
In 1990 Jennifer joined a small provisional broker Procter Partners who were owned by Ault Insurance in West Bromwich and are still trading. Managing a high net worth home insurance scheme under a delegated authority and a travel scheme for clients who were mad enough to trek up the Himalayas or climb Everest. Whilst with this company she moved onto the commercial team as a trainee commercial account handler and managed a public liability scheme for hairdressers and swimming instructors. From there she was appointed to an account executive to assist him with his clients which consisted of property owners portfolio one client with over 500 properties. Also this was the first time she was introduced to Motor Fleet and Motor Trade Combined products.
In 2001 Jennifer decided to move to pastures new and joined Giles Insurance as a high net worth home insurance account handler and this involved looking after some celebrities insurance policies which was interesting as she was dealing with high cover amounts and works of art.
After a career break to have her second child Jennifer returned to work in 2007 and joined Footman James as a commercial account handler dealing with all aspects of insurance but mainly Classic Motor Trade Combined insurance on a delegated authority scheme at the time with AXA Insurance. This was really interesting and as a company attended motor shows and being involved with prestige vehicles. During my time at Footman James she was asked to assist the account director as his account handler and worked with him from 2010 until she left in 2018. During her time working closely with him she looked after his client’s needs whether it was factory that manufactured vacuum filters or a motor trader who sold Ferraris to a big haulage company including property owners and building contractors.
In December 2018 Jennifer joined SJL Insurance as Servicing Team Leader which is a new role to her. The company is great place to work and there is something always going on, the team of people are great with a great deal of insurance knowledge for all classes of business.
